Measured spreads
Broker websites quote spreads "from 0.0 pips"; what matters is the spread on your ticket at the moment your order fills. Across 185 measured fills on 1 connected account, OANDA Japan averaged 582.8 points, with XAUUSD the most-traded symbol. Spread uses the closest broker tick at or before each fill — never a later tick. It includes news widening and rollover, which advertised figures don't.
On XAUUSD, OANDA Japan's measured spread at the closest pre-fill tick ranks 14 of 14 measured brokers.
Average spread from the closest pre-fill tick; the money column uses the broker's own tick value, per 1.00 lot.

median spread at fill time
Across 185 measured XAUUSD fills, OANDA Japan's average spread at the closest pre-fill tick was 582.8 points. The per-symbol table shows other instruments separately.
Advertised spreads are usually a feed minimum. These numbers use the closest tick at or before real fills — including news spikes, rollover widening and off-peak hours — without leaking a post-fill quote into the measurement.
Points — on a 5-digit forex symbol, 10 points = 1 pip. Where the broker's own tick value is known, the per-symbol table also shows the approximate cost per 1.00 lot in money, which is easier to compare across symbols.
